Hi, I'm Holly.

Ilex is the genus of the holly plant.

About my Work

My speciality is working with small businesses, non-profits, and local candidates to create branding, set up platforms, and produce templates and other resources so that my clients are able to to manage their own marketing and messaging.

I'm a bit of a jill-of-all-creative-trades, so in addition to all the graphic design stuff you'd expect, I can also draft ad copy, take photographs, troubleshoot your website, write press releases, make TikToks, punch up speeches, and bake you a nice crusty sourdough boule -- tho I'll admit I haven't yet worked the sourdough into a job!

I charge $50/hour for pretty much everything I do. We can chat by phone, text, email, or zoom to get a sense of whether we're a good fit for each other. I'm generally pretty easy to work with.

If you're a progressive political candidate and this is your first time running for office, I'm happy to donate a logo design to your campaign.

About me

I live in Schenectady, NY with my spouse (engineer, amateur woodworker, misanthrope), kids (art-making, animal-loving, neuro-spicy aspiring novelist 7th grader; punny, history-loving gamer 10th grader), mom (artsy-craftsy recovering retailer and Stardew Valley addict), dogs (rescue pibble and full mark-up Bernedoodle), and cats (both black).

I was an English major, and I like reading novels. I love non-fiction (books, podcasts, movies, whatever) about grifters, MLMs, and cults. I spin, knit, embroider, mend, and make rugs out of thrifted textiles. I draw, watercolor, block print, art journal, and teach Zentangle. I cook, bake, pickle, preserve, grow vegetables, and cultivate houseplants. I'm always plotting novels in my head and not writing them down.
